Our story
Up All Night Bakery was founded in 2019 by Jonathan Highfield. What began as a small standat the Dorey Park Farmers’ Market quickly grew into a retail space. For the first two years ofbusiness, Up All Night operated out of a small space on Lakeside Avenue.
Real ones will remember the original walk up window. ;) With the business growing in popularity, it became obvious that a larger space was needed. Up All Night briefly had two locations, the Lakeside location and the Bellevue location, before consolidating into our current home on Bellevue Avenue.
In October of 2025, Jonathan sold the business to Jay Metzler, the owner of Idle Hands Bakery. Jay has retained the staff, recipes and principles that Jonathan first established, while letting the employees have creative control.
With a focus on fresh ingredients, we work with local partners whenever possible including Agriberry Farm and Bugle Call Coffee. We strive to create new and exciting flavors, while respecting classic techniques and methodology. Our primary focuses are croissants and laminated pastries; it’s our bread and butter, so to speak. Each croissant is part of a three day process, so even when the shop is closed, we are working hard to provide the community with their favorite baked goods! We offer a wide variety of sweet and savory options, such as croissants, scones, cookies, sandwiches, and breads. Our breads are mostly sourdough based and a true labor of love.
Their attention to detail and commitment to quality truly stood out. We’ve already recommended them to others.
